German School of Monmouth County Class

Why a German School on the Jersey Shore?

The German School of Monmouth County (GSMC) was formed in 2007 by parents with a commitment to international education and the goal of introducing children and adults to today’s German-speaking Europe.   We are accredited by the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) and a member of the German Language School Conference (GLSC).   The German School of Monmouth County is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization and does not discriminate by race, color, religion, gender, age, country, or ethnic origin.

GSMC is a parent-supported organization open to native and non-native speakers and offers affordable German language instruction for all ages.

Our curriculum engages students in verbal and written German communication through traditional classes, games, interactive play, events, activities and excursions with the goal of celebrating the culture of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Mission Statement

The German School of Monmouth County’s (GSMC) provides a superior educational experience based on cognitive, creative, and social learning skills.  Our students will enhance and advance their ability to speak, read, understand, and write the German language at their individual skill levels in a German-speaking environment. They will gain a genuine understanding of the German culture, traditions and 21st century life, in a friendly, safe, and open atmosphere.

Our goal is to develop students’ German proficiency and increase academic excellence; to introduce them to the cultural heritage of the German-speaking countries and their modern achievements; and to offer an experience that helps increase international understanding.

Faculty

GSMC provides high-quality German instruction to all ages by trained German-speaking teachers using new and adapted teaching methods from Germany. We ensure students hear the proper accent from teachers who are relaxed, confident and comfortable in speaking, reading and writing German.
